Globalisation process is in full swing and constantly erasing cultural lines that once divided us. Nonetheless, conflict between individuals from different cultures still exists and constantly holding us back in social development. This work questions different segments of intercultural communication i cultural influence. It deals with subjects such as :communication, conflict, interculturalism, communication competence. It researches what culture actually is and what is her connection with communication. Also it deals with characteristics of culture and how much it differentiates from country to country. Intercultural communication is one of the crucial points of this work. Bringing the most important definitions of that subject and defining verbal and nonverbal communication in context of interculturalism. The Fundamental definition of communication process is given by Lasswell’s model which rounds the whole story about communication. Further, the work is also defining intercultural communication competence and its models and in the next chapters, it deals with conflict in general and in the context of interculturalism. Based on the research from Stella Ting-Toomey, it also deals with the theories of intercultural conflict and helps us understand how to explain intercultural conflict. Finally, cultural differences that are listed further emphasize cultural diversity. The conclusion highlights the importance of cultural diversity and the importance of learning to deal with conflict since childhood and that every individual, whatever culture they belong to, must learn to be culturally competent.
