Media relations is a new discipline responsible for maintaining successful communication between different publics and organizations or individuals, and it is one of the segments of public relations. Media relations is in charge of creating public opinion and its main goal is to create positive image of a particular organization in public. Their fertile ground was found on the Internet, on social media. Today, social media are the main tools of communicators in media relations because they gather the public in one place, regardless of time and space constraints. This paper seeks to establish how catholic priests use modern media today and how they are used in evangelization. Since the Church's primary goal is to communicate with its members, church officials have sought throughout history to use accessible means of communication. The paper is divided into three thematic units. The first part informs and refers to media relations, media itself and public relations. The second part of the paper gives a brief overview of media relations in the Church and history of the Church's activities in the media. Third and the final part of the paper uses the example of three priests (Fulton J.Sheen, Pope Francis and Don Damir Stojić) to show their media relations and it contains an interview conducted with Don Damir Stojić for the purpose of this paper.
