Abstract Predmet završnog rada je emocionalna inteligencija u funkciji osobnog razvoja s osvrtom na emocionalnu inteligenciju i njezin značaj u poslovanju. Emocionalna inteligencija uključuje sposobnosti brzoga zapažanja, procjene i izražavanja emocija, sposobnost uviđanja i generiranja osjećaja koji olakšavaju mišljenje, sposobnosti razumijevanja emocija i znanje o emocijama te sposobnost reguliranja emocija u svrhu promocije emocionalnog i intelektualnog razvoja. Cilj završnog rada je analizirati emocionalnu inteligenciju u funkciji osobnog razvoja, a posebno koristi emocionalne inteligencije u poslovnom okruženju. Kako bi se ostvario cilj završnog rada, kao metode istraživanja korištene su induktivna i deduktivna metoda, metoda analize i metoda sinteze, metoda deskripcije te metoda klasifikacije. Emocionalna inteligencija važna je u poslovnom okruženju. Istraživanja su pokazala da se značajan udio vještina, koje se smatraju potrebnima da bi pojedinac bio uspješan u poslu, temelje na emocionalnim sposobnostima, da su osobine koje izdvajaju vrhunske menadžere od prosječnih emocionalne vještine te da su emocionalne vještine dvostruko važnije u poslovnim rezultatima od intelekta i tehničkih vještina. Pri tome su temeljne emocionalne i društvene kompetencije samosvijest, samokontrola, motivacija, empatija i društvene vještine. Osim toga, smatra se da je u poduzećima poželjniji transformacijski stil vođenja od transakcijskog zbog prevladavajuće emocionalne komponente sadržane u tom stilu vođenja. Pri tome su komponente transformacijskog stila vođenja željeni utjecaj, motivacija i inspiracija, intelektualna stimulacija te uvažavanje pojedinaca. Emocionalno inteligentni vođe mogu utjecati na profitabilnost poduzeća jer će zaposlenici oponašati njihovo ponašanje i stvarati emocionalno inteligentne timove zaposlenika koji su visokomotivirani za rad.
Abstract (english) The subject of this paper is emotional intelligence in the function of personal development with a focus on emotional intelligence in business. Emotional intelligence includes the ability to quickly perceive the assessment and expression of emotions; ability to perceive and generate feelings that facilitate thought; the ability to understand emotions and the knowledge of emotions and the ability to regulate emotions for the purpose of promoting emotional and intellectual development. The aim of this paper is to analyze emotional intelligence in the function of personal development, and especially the benefits of emotional intelligence in the business environment. In order to achieve the goal of the final paper, inductive and deductive, analysis and synthesis methods, descriptive method and classification method were used as the research method. Emotional intelligence is important in a business environment. Research has shown that a significant proportion of the skills deemed necessary for an individual to be successful in the business are based on emotional ability, and that skills that distinguish top executives from average are emotional skills and that emotional skills are twice as important in business performance than intellect and technical skills. The core emotional and social competences are self-awareness, self-control, motivation, empathy and social skills. In addition, a transformational leadership style is considered to be more desirable in companies than a transactional one because of the predominant emotional component contained in that leadership style. In doing so, the components of a transformational leadership style are the desired influence, motivation and inspiration, intellectual stimulation and appreciation of individuals. Emotionally intelligent leaders can affect the profitability of a business because employees will emulate their behavior and will create emotionally intelligent teams of employees who are highly motivated to work.
