Abstract
Brzim razvojem digitalizacije u filmskoj industriji zadnjih desetak godina došlo je do određenih promjena i u distribuciji filma kao najvažnijoj karici između produkcije i prikazivača. Rad daje opći uvid u način distribucije europskog nenacionalnog filma za bolje razmijevanje procesa profesionalcima iz industrije. Objasnit će se osnovni pojmovi vezani uz distribuciju filma, pojasniti njezina uloga u vrijednosnom lancu europskog filma te prikazati sve faze distribucije koje film mora proći od produkcije do publike. Prikazat će se i pregled dostupnih fondova koji podržavaju distribuciju europskog nenacionalnog filma jer vlastita financijska sredstva distributera često nisu dovoljna kako bi se osigurao što veći protok europskih filmova među državama članicama.
Abstract (english)
Swift development of digitalization in the film industry during the last decade has brought about specific changes in film distribution as the prime link between production and exhibitors. This thesis brings forth a general insight into distribution practices of European non-national films, thus enabling the industry professionals to understand the process better. It will indicate the basic concepts related to film distribution, explain its role in the European film value chain, and show all phases of distribution that a film has to go through to get from production to audience. It will present an overview of available funding supporting the European non-national films distribution since the distributers’ own financial resources are often insufficient for securing a better flow of European films among EU member countries.
