Masovni mediji imaju ogroman doseg u društvu, a time i na nastanak stereotipa. Jednako tako isti utjecaj imaju i kulturološke razlike. Stereotipi duboko zadiru u kulturološko poimanje izbjeglica u mentalnom sklopu ljudi u zemlji domaćina u koju dolaze. Rješenje se vidi u obrazovanju (educiranosti), korektnoj i provjerenoj informiranosti javnosti i sustavnom povezivanju i koordinaciji zaduženih državnih institucija i tijela.
Abstract (english) Refugees are undoubtedly a social phenomenon and even a phenomenon. In the theoretical part of the paper, we adhered to the definition that stereotypes are an individual and overly generalized set of traits that are attributed to members of a social group. The mass media have a huge reach in society, and thus to the emergence of stereotypes. Cultural differences have the same impact. Stereotypes penetrate deeply into the cultural understanding of refugees in the mental structure of the people in the host country they come to. Here, a special narrative is formed in the public when it comes to refugees and in which all the stated stereotypes are present. We focused our research on interviews with both refugees and integration process participants. Stereotypes are a phenomenon with complex psychological characteristics, where we will emphasize intercultural sensitivity, intolerance, prejudice and the radical relocation of a person from the original environment to a new environment. Research shows that stereotypes emerge as generalized opinions. It is also worth mentioning the connection between the emergence of stereotypes and the education of citizens. This is especially evident in the statements concerning the distinction between "ordinary" people and institutions. Political discourse boils down to three basic things: compliance with European political discourse, also the manipulation of the public, and the use of refugee issues when necessary solely for political purposes. The solution is seen in education (education), correct and verified information of the public and systematic connection and coordination of the responsible state institutions and bodies. Civil society organizations are an absolutely positive example of the integration of refugees and overcoming stereotypes in communication with refugees in Croatia. Through their work, civil society organizations are trying to overcome all the problems mentioned so far. It succeeds thanks to the expertise, enthusiasm, empathy, constant training and coordination, and thanks to the help of a large number of volunteers.
