The topic of this paper is communication through symbols. In the continuation of the paper, the role of symbols in communication and the influence of racism and symbols throughout the history of mankind until today will be presented. Human communication is based on various types of symbols that are connected into a complex system, in order to enable the fixation of a huge number of concepts about various things and phenomena and about their properties and relations between them. Symbolic communication derives from a predetermined meaning for the purpose of conveying the messages of a community or humanity. By adopting the language of his community, the individual possesses a large number of symbols and through his development creates new ones. The system of symbols allows an individual to express the knowledge and ideas he has come to based on his abilities. The use of symbols, and especially developed language, are of great importance for the progress of man and society. The complex organization of symbols overcomes the limitations that nature creates for man. The system of symbols is also important for the socialization and development of an individual’s personality. In addition to transmitting one's own experiences, symbols overcome spatial and temporal distances.
