Abstract
Ovaj završni rad obrađuje temu Međunarodne pomorske organizacije (IMO), s posebnim osvrtom na rezultate njenog rada. Cilj rada je analizirati rad IMO s aspekta pomorske sigurnosti i predstaviti elemente kojima ona ostvaruje svoju ulogu. Uloga IMO za svjetsku pomorsku sigurnost je neupitna, a pokriva sve aspekte sigurnosti, od života i zdravlja sudionika pomorskog prometa, brige za materijalna dobra i morski okoliš.
Abstract (english)
This final paper deals with the topic of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), with special emphasis to the results of its work. The aim of this paper is to analyse the work of the IMO from the aspect of maritime safety and security and to present the elements by which it fulfils its role. The role of the IMO for global maritime safety is unquestionable and it covers all its aspects, from life and health of participants in maritime transport, care for the material goods as well as the marine environment.
