The goal of this paper is to explain in more detail how and in what ways can motivation affect the work that a particular worker does. Motivation is defined as the means by which a worker will have the will to do a certain tasks. Numerous examinations have been made, as well as surveys, with a common goal of investigating whether acting in a certain way contributes or hinders the overall motivation of an employee. Motivators can be material- like salary increases and bonuses after a well-done job. On the other hand, they may be non-material but also very effective, such as paid personal days for employees and the ability to help start the so-called 'fast start' program so that the worker can work better and more efficiently. Questionnaires conducted in companies show that people value material and non-material motivators equally. Nowadays, it is simply impossible to imagine the life without money since it is the foundation of everything. We could say that money is like a great wheel on a water mill - it has a very important function that is interrupted if there is no constant flow of water. Because of this we can conclude that money is the most important factor when it comes to worker's motivation since it helps in starting a family, buying a house and many other things. An online survey was also conducted at PP Orahovica and the results showed that people value material motivators slightly more than their non-material counterparts.
