Abstract
Cilj rada je napraviti analizu i utvrditi činjenice koje su dovele do globalnog onečišćenja morskog okoliša do te mjere da je ugrožena egzistencija tisuća i tisuća životinjskih i biljnih vrsta. U radu će biti spomenuti faktori koji su utjecali na taj ekološki problem te razlozi zašto se taj problem ne smanjuje. Od svih izravnih i neizravnih čimbenika koji utječu na onečišćenje, naglasak će biti na pomorskom prometu i ljudskom faktoru. Nepobitna je činjenica da je pomorski promet jako bitna stavka u svijetu te da je jako teško, možda i nemoguće zamisliti svijet bez njega, no negativne posljedice koje su nastale kao produkt su toliko velike da se nešto mora početi mijenjati. Učestale nesreće brodova te ljudska neopreznost i nebriga te olako shvaćanje opasnosti dovele su do trenutne loše situacije iz koje će se biti teško izvući jer su prirodna staništa i kvaliteta ne samo morskog, nego života općenito jako ugroženi.
Abstract (english)
Purpose of this paper is to analyze and establish the facts which led to global pollution of marine environment to such measure that thousands and thousands of plants and animals are livelihood threatened. In this paper will be mentioned factors which led to that environmental problem and reasons why there is no improvements. There is a lot of direct and indirect indicators for the pollution, but the focus will be on sea transport and the human factors. It is incontrovertible fact that the sea transport has enormous significance in this world and that it is very hard to imagine life without it, but there is to many negative consequences so something must be changed. Repeated accidents involving ships and people who are not careful and does not take hazards seriously led to currently very bad situation from which will be very difficult to get out and make some improvement because the natural habitats and quality of sea and life in general are very jeopardized.
