Abstract
Republici Hrvatskoj je održivo gospodarenje otpadom postao veliki problem koji se vrlo često ne shvaća dovoljno ozbiljno zbog neznanja, nedostatka financijskih sredstava, te kršenja odredbi i propisa Europske unije i nacionalnog zakonodavstva. Na nagomilane troškove posrnule proizvodnje, svaka dodatna obveza u gospodarenju otpadom, je problem. Neodgovarajuće gospodarenje otpadom se negativno odražava na sastavnice okoliša: vodu, zrak, more, tlo, klimu, ljudsko zdravlje i biljni i životinjski svijet. Međutim svi, od državnih struktura, proizvođača, do krajnjeg potrošača, morat će shvatiti bit problema i naći zajednički put za ostvarivanje cjelovitog sustava održivog gospodarenja otpadom.
Abstract (english)
In Republic of Croatia, sustainable waste management has become a big problem which is not considered serious because of ignorance, lack of financial resources, and violating provisions of regulations of the European Union and national legislation. On the accumulated cost of lapsed production, any additional obligation in waste management is a problem. Inadequate waste management reflects negatively on environmental components: water, air, sea, soil, climate, human health, and wildlife. However, everyone, from state structures, manufacturer, to end consumer, will need to understand the essence of the problem and find a common path to achieving a complete sustainable waste management system.
