Abstract
Rad opisuje utjecaj citostatika na organizam što je ključno razumjeti kako bi se opisani protokoli primjene i načina korištenja u zdravstvenim ustanovama te ispravno postupanje s lijekovima shvatili ozbiljno. Opisano je i pravilno razvrstavanje otpada koje utječe na smanjenje rizika od ugrožavanja okoliša, ali od štetnog utjecaja na druge zaposlenike koji rukuju otpadom. U drugom dijelu rada opisane su tehnologije zbrinjavanja citotoksičnog otpada u kontekstu zbrinjavanja opasnog medicinskog otpada. Opisane su regulativa i primjena regulative u Hrvatskoj kroz primjere u nekim zdravstvenim ustanovama. Važnost zaštite na radu i kontrole izloženosti zaposlenika, ali i zaštite javnog zdravlja postaju potpuno vidljivi kada se nadovežu na opis štetnosti za zdravlje ljudi i okoliša.
Abstract (english)
This paper describes effects of antitumor drugs on human body, which is important to understand to take seriously all the protocols and recommendations for handling medications. It also describes proper sorting of medical waste which lowers the risk of pollution and protects other employees who handle waste from harmful effects. Second part of the paper describes technologies of cytotoxic waste disposal within the context of managing hazardous waste. It also describes regulation and its use in Croatia through examples in some health facilities. Importance of protection at work and regulation of employees' exposure, as well as protection of public health becomes more visible when put in context with harmful features of antitumor drugs.
