The term damage compensation implies liability for damage and the ways of its repair. Damage repair may be in the form of cash payments or moral satisfaction if it is not possible to determine the amount of cash compensation. Responsibility for damage is a civil liability relationship in which one party is obliged to repair the damage caused to the other party and the other party is authorized to demand such repair. The liability relationship arises with cumulative fulfillment by the law of certain assumptions. The Mandatory Relationship Act regulates responsibility for damage in the Republic of Croatia. This paper is composed of a theoretical and empirical part. In the theoretical part of the paper theoretical considerations regarding the compensation of damages are handled using the relevant professional literature, while in the empirical part of the paper five cases related to court judgments regarding the compensation of damages are handled according to the different ways of applying liability for damages.
