Abstract
Džin (engl.gin) je svestrano piće, važan sastojak mnogih poznatih koktela, piće koje se može piti s kockom leda ili pomiješan s tonikom za savršeni Gin&Tonic. Prvi džin proizveden je u 17. stoljeću u Nizozemskoj i tada se koristio u medicinske svrhe i to kao lijek za bolesti bubrega. Tijekom povijesti džin je uglavnom bio podcijenjen i smatran pićem siromašnih, a popularan postaje tek u 20-im godinama kada se širi potrošnja u kombinaciji s tonikom i limunom. Džin je u posljednjih nekoliko godina nezaobilazno piće u ponudi svakog lokala ili restorana koji drži do svog imidža.
Abstract (english)
Gin is a versatile drink, an important ingredient in many famous cocktails, a drink that can be drunk with an ice cube or mixed with a tonic for the perfect Gin & Tonic. The first gin was produced in the 17th century in the Netherlands and was then used for medicinal purposes as a remedy for kidney disease. Throughout history, gin has been largely underestimated and considered the drink of the poor, and became popular only in the 1920s when consumption in combination with tonic and lemon expanded. In the last few years, gin has been an unavoidable drink in the offer of every bar or restaurant that sticks to its image.
