Abstract
Ustavna moć Europske Unije je element na kojeg moraju pristati sve države članice, trenutne, ali i one koje žele postati dio ove zajednice. Ustav je temeljni pravni akt svake države, a većina građana je osjetljiva na to da moraju mijenjati ‘svoj’ Ustav zbog stranaca. Ipak, ustavnost Unije je nešto što se razvija više od pola stoljeća, baš kao i sama Unija. Europska Unija želi državama jamčiti njihovu autonomiju, ali istovremeno ih podsjeća kako su dio zajednice te kako moraju djelovati kolektivno ako žele da integracija bude istinski plodonosna za sve involvirane. Unija mora djelovati na kompromisu, ali samo ako je temeljen na opipljivim činjenicama, a ne na hiru političara, pravnika, državnika, pa čak i građana.
Abstract (english)
The constitutional power of the European Union is an element that must be agreed upon by all member states, current ones as well as those that want to become part of this community. The Constitution is the fundamental legal act of every country, and most citizens are sensitive to the fact that they have to change "their" Constitution because of foreigners. Nevertheless, the constitutionality of the Union is something that has been developing for more than half a century, just like the Union itself. The European Union wants to guarantee the states their autonomy, but at the same time reminds them that they are part of the community and that they must act collectively if they want the integration to be truly fruitful for all involved. The Union must act on a compromise, but only if it is based on tangible facts and not on the whims of politicians, lawyers, statesmen, and even citizens.
