The word ethics has its roots in the Greek word ethos meaning: custom, behavior, or character. Ethics deals with the values and rules that an individual or society as a whole considers desirable. It helps us to discern between good and evil and wants to guide us to the principles that someone has already applied. The Croatian name for ethics is morality. It indicates that the mood or character should be put in order. Many issues are now mentioned in ethics: the issue of fair pay, private ownership, advertising, etc. Business ethics studies what is good and right for a job, and to help determine different eict principles. The diversity of business ethics and pure ethics is that business ethics is expected to make the other party fulfill its agreed obligations. The Center for Business Ethics in Croatia was founded in 2004. The center answers all questions of subunits or legal entities that have ethical doubts. Ethical problems arise when decisions of an individual or organization can harm others. Relationships with clients must be based on trust and credibility. The Code sets out the basic guidelines of ethical conduct of business entities within the Croatian economy.
