Abstract
Danas se smatra da je veliki broj metaboličkih bolesti uvjetovan genetskom strukturom organizma. Pri tome ključnu ulogu ima interakcija gena i hranjivih tvari koje moduliraju njihovu ekspresiju. Stoga se sve veći značaj pridaje prevenciji i smanjenju rizika, a kao pomoć pri liječenju navedenih bolesti primjenjuju se metode individualizirane prehrane, te sastavljanje vodiča i preporuka za konzumaciju hrane temeljenih na cjelokupnom genetskom profilu jedinke. U animalnoj proizvodnji navedeni pristup omogućuje optimiziranje ishrane prilagoĎene proizvodnim potrebama jedinke i očuvanju njezina zdravlja. Smatra se da je neodgovarajuća prehrana jedan od rizičnih čimbenika nastanka odreĎenih metaboličkih poremećaji ljudi i ņivotinja kao i da se velik broj bolesti ovog tipa moņe prevenirati odgovarajućom prehranom. U radu će biti prikazani mehanizmi djelovanja hranjivih tvari na gensku ekspresiju i najčeńći metabolički poremećaji ljudi i ņivotinja, te mogućnosti primjene nutrigenomike u praksi.
Abstract (english)
Today, it is believed that a large number of metabolic diseases is conditioned by the genetic structure of the organism. The key role is the interaction of genes and nutrients that modulate their expression. Therefore, increasing importance is given to prevention and risk reduction, methods of individualized nutrition, compilation of guides and recommendations for food consumption based on the overall genetic profile of the individual to assist in the treatment of these diseases. In animal production, this approach enables the optimization of the diet adapted to the production needs of the individual and the preservation of its health. Inadequate nutrition is considered to be one of the risk factors for the occurrence of certain metabolic disorders of humans and animals. The paper will present the mechanisms of action of nutrients on gene expression and the most common metabolic disorders of humans and animals, as well as the ways of applying nutrigenomics in practice.
