Parents of children who are diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) or social communication disorder (SCD) are responsible for deciding which interventions to implement for their child. In order to find appropriate interventions for their child, parents turn to different sources of information about intervention procedures. The aim of this study was to gain insight into which interventions parents choose for their children and to study all the circumstances and factors faced by parents of children with communication disorders (ways of informing about interventions, number of simultaneous interventions, time spent by parents to arrive to therapy, financial costs, parental experience with different professionals and approaches in therapy...). For the purpose of the research, a questionnaire "Forms of support for children with communication disorders" was designed. The study involved 67 parents of children diagnosed with ASD or SCD. They filled out the questionnaire via Google Forms form. The collected data were statistically processed by the computer program IBM Statistics 26.0. The results showed that parents are most informed about various interventions through websites, talking to a speech therapist and other parents. Parents generally opt for evidence based interventions and there is little difference in the choice of some interventions between parents of children diagnosed with ASD and children diagnosed with SCD. Also, the results of the research show that there is no correlation between the level of education of the parents and the number of interventions that a child with a communication disorder attends at the same time. There are differences in the choice of interventions depending the level of education of the parents. Depending on the age of the child (younger and older children), parents in equal percentage choose evidence based interventions with the exception of social stories intervention and peer-based intervention. Interventions in a breakthrough and non-evidence based interventions are chosen by parents in equal percentages for younger and older children with slightly larger differences in several intervention procedures. Money spent on intervention procedures, travel time, and parental experience with different interventions vary from parent to parent.
