Creativity is one of the drivers of progress, and it is considered as a process that results in something original, valuable and appropriate. Given that the education system must always keep up with time and changes that have occurred, divergent thinking, willingness to take risks and flexibility become one of the main features. It is precisely because of all of the above that it is important to encourage creativity in teaching and, accordingly, in teaching English language. One of the changes that took place was the coronavirus pandemic, which greatly affected education and required rapid adaptation of all participants in the educational process. For the purpose of the above, the research was conducted that aimed to determine how much English language teachers encouraged creativity before and during the coronavirus pandemic, and to determine whether English language teachers differ in encouraging creativity with regard to the time when creativity was encouraged (before and during the coronavirus pandemic), type of school, age and training related to the stimulation of creativity. There were 102 English language teachers in primary and secondary schools of the SplitDalmatia County that participated in the research. The obtained results show that teachers frequently encouraged creativity before and during the coronavirus pandemic, with the fact that teachers encouraged creativity more before the coronavirus pandemic. Other results showed that there is no statistically significant difference in encouraging creativity before and during the coronavirus pandemic, regarding the type of school, age and teacher training
