Abstract
Predmet ovog završnog rada bio je pobliže opisati i definirati ulogu školskog odbora u upravljanju odgojno-obrazovnom ustanovom. U radu su prikazane zadaće i uloga školskog odbora u upravljanju školom. Na temelju navedenih referenci u radu može se zaključiti da za efikasno djelovanje i organizaciju škole potrebno je da školski odbor kao cjelina uspostavlja i održava kvalitetne odnose s dionicima odgojno-obrazovnog procesa, ravnateljem i roditeljima. Unatoč manjku istraživanja vezanih uz rad školskog odbora dokazano je da efikasan školski odbor utječe na uspjeh učenika i kvalitetu obrazovanja, što pokazuje da treba ulagati u obrazovanje i edukaciju članova odbora.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this paper was to closely describe and define the role of school boards in the management of an educational institution. Throughout the paper the main roles of school boards are shown. On the basis of the mentioned references we conclude that for the efficient operation and organization of the school, the school board needs to function as a team and establish and maintain quality relations with the members of the edcuational process, superintendents and parents. Despite the lack of research of school boards, it is proven that an efficient school board influences student achievement and the quality of education, which shows that it is neccessary to invest in the education of school board members.
