People were born to move, and dance is life itself, an art in which man is at the centre. The aim of this paper was to present dance therapy and its positive effects on humans and preschool children. In order to achieve this, we must first demonstrate what dance is, how dance has evolved throughout history, and the role dance pedagogues play in it. The action, technique, benefits, principles, and effectiveness of dance therapy are presented. The application of dance therapy emphasizes its beneficial effects. The MotionComposer system is presented as an essential tool in the application of dance therapy for people with disabilities because it enables music to be expressed through movement. The use of dance therapy in a preschool institution is shown through five preschool dance therapy activities. The goals of the dance therapy program are a sense of self, impulse control/interpersonal space boundaries, social skills, and adjustment/transition skills. The importance of dance and movement therapy for children of preschool age was emphasized because dance as a therapy deals with all components of the child's growth and supports developmental progress in children. The thesis is concluded with a discussion of the teacher's role, emphasizing the value of an educator who actively and consciously guides students, encourages them to explore their potential, and establishes the ideal environment for the growth of their skills.
