Abstract
This thesis comprises five translations with commentary. Excerpts from three books were translated from English into Croatian ("Atomic Habits", "Spitfire", "You Are What You Read"), and two from Croatian into English ("Znanstvena istraživanja jezika i prevođenja", "Fiumanski, opet lažeš"). The commentary primarily focused on explaining what type of text was being translated and what challenges this text presents to the translator, why specific translations were chosen instead of other ones, and why some terms are more difficult to translate than others. Furthermore, specifically in the translation of the Croatian text "Fiumanski, opet lažeš", the commentary is mainly focused on the translation strategies of foreignisation and domestication.

Rad sadrži pet prijevoda s popratnim komentarima. S engleskoga na hrvatski prevedeni su isječci triju knjiga ("Atomic Habits", "Spitfire", "You Are What You Read"), dok su s hrvatskoga na engleski prevedeni isječci iz dviju knjiga ("Znanstvena istraživanja jezika i prevođenja", "Fiumanski, opet lažeš"). U komentarima je u prvome redu naglasak na pojašnjivanje vrste teksta koji se prevodio te koje izazove takav tekst predstavlja za prevoditelja, zašto su pojedina prijevodna rješenja izabrana umjesto drugih i zašto su neki pojmovi teži za prevesti od ostalih. Nadalje, a posebno u prijevodu hrvatskog teksta "Fiumanski, opet lažeš", u komentarima je većinom naglasak na prijevodne strategije postranjivanja (eng. foreignisation) i podomaćivanja (domestication).
