Abstract
Tema ovog diplomskoga rada prevođenje je pjesama u animiranim i igranim mjuziklima i njihova analiza. Rad se sastoji od povijesnog pregleda nastanka glazbeno-scenske umjetnosti i mjuzikla i njihova prijevoda, opisa metodologije, analize, popisa literature i izvora te dodatka u kojem se nalaze svi prepjevi i originalni tekstovi pjesama. Ovim radom nastoje se odrediti elementi unutar i izvan samoga mjuzikla koji utječu na prijevod. S tim ciljem analizirane su sljedeće pjesme i njihovi prijevodi na dva ciljna jezika, gdje je to moguće: The Winner Takes It All (iz mjuzikla Mamma Mia!), Prince Ali (iz mjuzikla Aladin – crtana i igrana verzija), Serdce (iz mjuzikla Veselye rebjata / Tko pjeva, zlo ne misli) te Pesenka pro umyvanie (iz serijala Maša i medved'). Kod prvih dviju pjesama analizirani su prijevodi na ruski i hrvatski jezik, kod pjesme Serdce samo prijevod na hrvatski jezik, a kod posljednje pjesme prijevod na engleski i hrvatski jezik. Ti primjeri odabrani su zbog toga što pripadaju različitim vremenskim razdobljima, pod-žanrovima mjuzikla te medijima, što je sve uzeto u obzir pri analizi. Analiza pokazuje kako na prevoditelje pri prijevodu utječu razni čimbenici, uključujući ciljnu publiku, vrijeme nastanka, fabulu mjuzikla, scenu koja se odvija u to vrijeme.
Abstract (english)
The subject of this thesis is song translation in animated musicals, motion picture musicals and theatre musicals, as well as their analysis. The thesis consists of a historic overview of the performing arts and musicals and their translation, methodology description, corpus analysis, works cited, bibliography, and an appendix containing all translations and original lyrics analyzed. This work aims to determine which elements within and outside the musical itself impact translation. The following songs and their translations to two target languages (where possible) are analyzed to this purpose: The Winner Takes It All (from Mamma Mia!), Prince Ali (from Aladin – crtana i igrana verzija), Serdce (from Veselye rebjata / Tko pjeva, zlo ne misli) and Pesenka pro umyvanie (from Maša i medved'). In the first two examples translations to Russian and Croatian were analyzed, in the analysis of Serdce only the Croatian translation, and in the analysis of the last song translations to English and Croatian were analyzed. These songs were chosen because they belong to different time periods, musical sub-genres and media, which was taken into consideration during analysis. The analysis showcases that the translators are impacted by various factors, such as target audience, time period, the story of the musical, the scene happening while the song is being performed.
