Abstract
This thesis comprises five translations with commentary. Excerpts from three books were translated from English into Croatian (The Establishment: And How They Get Away With It; Making Minds. What's wrong with education ⁠– and what should we do about it?; Reclaiming Conversation. The Power of Talk in a Digital Age) and two from Croatian into English (Ekološki otisak: kako je razvoj zgazio održivost; Iran u prezentu). The commentary primarily focused on terminology and the strategies translators can employ to address the non-correspondences between the source and target languages (SL concept is culture-specific, SL concept is not lexicalized in TL, different associative meaning, etc.).
