Abstract
Hrana predstavlja vječnog čovjekovog suputnika , kao prisustvo u svakodnevnom životu, nositelja emocionalnog i kulturnog značenja, odrednice nacionalnog i obiteljskog identiteta, neiscrpnog motiva u umjetnosti i baštini koja povezuje našu prošlost, sadašnjost i budućnost. Ovaj rad analizira značenja hrane od njezinih dokumentiranih početaka kroz njezine prikaze u umjetnosti, njezinu ulogu u konstruiranju identiteta te označivanje i zaštitu kao vrijedne nematerijalne kulturne baštine koja se prenosi iz generacije u generaciju. Rad se dotiče turističkih potencijala i nekih od problema koji dolaze uz fokus na ostvarivanje profita i osvrće se na načine na koje hrana ulazi u muzeje. Budućnost hrane još je spekulativna i nudi mogućnosti kreativne transformacije ljudskih navika i sudbine planeta za dobrobit svih nas.
Abstract (english)
Food represents the eternal companion of humankind, as an everyday presence, a carrier of emotional and cultural meaning, an element of national and familial identity, an inexhaustible motif in art and a heritage interconnecting our past, present and future. This thesis deals with multiple meanings of food through analysis of its appearance in artworks since its documented beginnings through the most representative examples up to present times, its role in identity and heritage-making and its protection as invaluable intangible cultural heritage transferred from one generation to another. This thesis also touches on tourism potentials of food and some of the problems arising from the focus on profit making, as well as explores ways in which food enters museums. The future of food is still speculative and offers possibilities of creative transformation of human habits and the fate of the planet for everyone’s benefit.
