Abstract
Albendazol je antihelmintik širokog spektra djelovanja koji se koristi za uklanjanje parazita iz domaćina. Upotrebljava se samostalno ili u kombinaciji s drugim lijekovima. Upotreba ovog lijeka je velika i raširena, a problem leži u njegovu učinku na okoliš. Velik dio farmaceutski aktivnih tvari nakon njihove upotrebe za namijenjenu svrhu biva ispušten u otpadne vode nepromijenjen ili u obliku razgradnih produkata koji se često vrlo teško uklanjaju. Da bi saznali kakav je utjecaj albendazola na okoliš, ispitivali smo njegovu sorpciju na pet različitih uzoraka tla i sedimenata koji su prikupljeni na teritoriju Republike Hrvatske. Sorpcija albendazola na tla i sedimente prikazana je Freundlichovom i Dubinin-Radushkevichovom izotermom pomoću kojih su određeni parametri sorpcije. Dobiveni koeficijent sorpcije (Kd) za ispitivane sedimente kreće se u rasponu od 29,438 mL/g do 73,565 mL/g, a za ispitivana tla u rasponu od 30,058 mL/g do 104,43 mL/g. Također su ispitane i fizikalno-kemijske karakteristike sedimenata i tla, te utjecaj promjene pH vrijednosti na sorpciju albendazola. Rezultati ispitivanja su pokazali da se povećanjem pH vrijednosti smanjuje koeficijent sorpcije.
Abstract (english)
Albendazole is a broad spectrum activity antihelmintic, which is used to remove the parasite from the host. It is used alone or in combination with other drugs. The use of this drug is large and spread out, but the problem lies in its impact to the enviroment. Much of pharmaceutically active components, after their use for intended purpose, gets released in discharged wastewater unchanged or in the form of degradation products which are often very difficult to remove. To find out what is the effect of albendazole on the environment, we examined the sorption on five different samples of soil and sediment collected from Croatian territory. Sorption of albendazole on the soil and sediment is shown by Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich isoterms by which certain parameters of sorption were determined. The obtained sorption coefficient (Kd) for tested sediments is in range of 29.438 mL/g to 73.565 mL/g, and for tested soils in range of 30.058 mL/g to 104.43 mL/g. Physico-chemical properties of sediments and soils were also tested so as the impact of changes in pH on sorption of albendazole. The results showed that an increase in pH reduces the sorption coefficient.
