Education is the national interest of every country and investment in knowledge has to be a priority for every individual. Learning as a process includes the application of various learning methods and strategies which enable the achievement of educational outcomes. The student has to be actively involved in the learning process, and the role of a quality teacher is to design content-appropriate and interesting methodological scenarios with various activities that stimulate the student's interest in the work. This is achieved by applying cross-curricular topics, both in the Nature and Society, and in other subjects. This paper describes and analyzes seven cross-curricular topics (Personal and Social Development, Learning How to Learn, Civic Education, Health, Entrepreneurship, Use of Information and Communication Technology and Sustainable Development) in six first grade of primary school nature and society textbooks, and the representation of all seven cross-curricular topics in each teaching unit is graphically shown. The paper clearly shows the positive side of introducing cross-curricular topics in teaching because they enable the realization of a large number of educational outcomes for each teaching unit, and the realization or non-realization of the same depends on the contribution and effort of teachers.
