Abstract Uvod: Komplementarna i alternativna medicina globalno postaje sve popularnija. Pojavom
U analizi i grafičkom prikazu
se koristila programska podrška IBM SPSS Statistics for Windows, verzija 25.0.
Rezultati: Ispunjeno je 70% od 400 predviđenih anketa. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 279
ispitanika oba spola i različitih životnih dobi. Dobiveni rezultati ukazuju na značajnu naviku
konzumiranja nekih dodataka prehrani među zdravstvenim djelatnicima, a pojava pandemije
uzimaju više i češće nego prije pandemije (22%).
vitamina, magnezija i cinka.
Abstract (english) Introduction: Complementary and alternative medicine are becoming more popular globally.
Interest in dietary supplements became more pronounced during COVID-19 pandemic.
Research goals: To research frequency of healthcare professionals’ consumption of dietary
supplements, and COVID-19 effect on the supplement consumption.
Participants and methods: The survey was conducted during December 2020 and January
2021. Data was collected voluntarily through anonymous surveys optimized for this research.
The inclusion criterion in the survey was that the respondent was a health professional according
to the laws of medicine and nursing and the laws of health care in the Republic of Croatia.
Descriptive statistics were used for statistical analysis, and differences in the group of masters
were determined by the χ2 test. All P values less than 0.05 were considered significant. IBM
SPSS Statistics for Windows, version 25.0 was used for analysis and graphic display of the data.
Results: 70% of the 400 planned surveys were completed. The study involved 279 respondents
of both sexes and different ages. Results show healthcare professionals’ significant habit in
intake of some dietary supplements, and appearance of COVID-19 affected a third of participants
(11%) to start taking supplements, or to take them more frequently than before the pandemic
(22%). During COVID-19 pandemic, healthcare professionals increased their intake of vitamin
C, vitamin D, B vitamin complex, magnesium and zinc. Other supplements healthcare
professionals increased their intake of are beta glucan, ginkgo biloba, collagen, and homeopathic
preparations.
Conclusion: Majority of healthcare professionals have a habit of consuming different dietary
