Abstract
Klasična organska otapala uzrokuju brojne negativne učinke na okoliš i zdravlje ljudi, a neizbježni su za korištenje u različitim industrijama, uključujući kemijsku i biotehnološku. Pokušavajući unaprijediti proizvodnju u ekološkom, i ekonomskom pogledu istražuju se različite alternative, među kojima je i proizvodnja ionskih tekućina, predstavnika novog, zelenog pristupa tehnologijama proizvodnje. S obzirom da su privukle veliku pozornost, u ovom radu opisana su svojstva i način pripreme eutektičnih otapala. Glavni cilj ovoga rada je skratiti vrijeme trajanja priprave eutektičnih otapala, u odnosu na klasične metode njihove pripreme. U radu je upotrijebljen reaktor koji ima mogućnost istovremenog korištenja ultrazvuka i mikrovalova. Priprema eutektičnog otapala kolin klorida, glukoze i vode (10 % w/w) klasičnom metodom zagrijavanja trajala je više od 3 sata, dok je priprema otpala u ultrazvučno-mikrovalnom reaktoru trajala 25 min. Istovremena upotreba ultrazvuka i mikrovalova za pripravu eutektičnog otapala značajno je ubrzala dobivanje eutektičnog otapala za više od 7 puta. Rezultati prikazani u ovom istraživanju imaju značajan doprinos u razvoju učinkovitih, kao i ekonomičnih te održivih procesa za pripremu industrijski važnih otapala.
Abstract (english)
Classic organic solvents, used in industries including chemical and biotechnological industries, cause numerous negative effects on the environment and human health. Trying to improve the production, in ecological and economical terms, scientists are trying to find new solvents as a part of the green chemistry. As a promising alternative to traditional organic solvents from both the environmental and technological perspectives, deep eutectic solvents have been dramatically expanding in popularity as a new generation of designer solvents with possible applications in various industrial fields. The main goal of this paper is reduction of duration of eutectic solvent synthesis by using ultrasonic – microwave Cooperative Extractor/Reactor. The conventional method for the choline chloride:glucose (10% H2O, w/w) preparation, lasted more than 3 hours. Using the ultrasonic – microwave reactor, the synthesis lasted 25 min, achieving our goal by reducing the duration more than 7 times. Results shown in this study could have significant impact to development of more efficient, economical and sustainable processes for the synthesis of industrially important solvents.
