Abstract
Eliminacijska prehrana jedini je terapijski pristup liječenju nutritivne alergije, što u dojenčadi i djece može dovesti do usporavanja rasta. Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je procijeniti stanje uhranjenosti dojenčadi i djece te utvrđivanje njihovog prehrambenog unosa prije početka eliminacijske prehrane. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 118 dojenčadi i djece dobi od 6 mjeseci do 10,5 godina. Analiziran je njihov prehrambeni unos u trenutku postavljanja dijagnoze i tjelesna masa u trenutku i nakon provođenja eliminacijske prehrane. Najveći broj dojenčadi i djece u trenutku dijagnoze bio je blago pothranjen neovisno o broju alergija (33,2 %; 45,5 %), dok je nakon provođenja eliminacijske prehrane povećan udio djece normalnog rasta (51,3 %; 61,4 %). Preporuke za unos analiziranih hranjivih tvari zadovoljene su samo u slučaju energije i proteina. Na temelju rezultata može se zaključiti kako su dojenčad i djeca u povećanom riziku od neadekvatnog prehrambenog unosa i usporenog rasta, no sustavno praćenje od strane nutricionista može imati povoljan utjecaj na osiguravanje pravilnog rasta i razvoja.
Abstract (english)
Elimination diet is the only therapeutic approach to treating food allergies, which can lead to growth problems in infants and children. The aim of this study was to assess the nutritional status of infants and children and to determine their dietary intake before starting the elimination diet. The study involved 118 infants and childrena age 6 months to 10,5 years whose dietary intake and weight was assesed. The largest number of infants and children at the time of diagnosis was mildly malnourished regardless of the number of allergies (33.2%; 45.5%), while after the elimination diet the proportion of children of normal growth (51.3%; 61.4%) was increased . Recommendations for critical nutrient intake were met only in the case of energy and protein. Based on the results, it can be concluded that infants and children are at increased risk of inadequate dietary intake and growth problems, but monitoring by dietitians can have a beneficial effect on ensuring proper growth.
