Abstract
Pretilost djece je posljednjih desetljeća postala globalni problem, uz široku i laku dostupnost brze hrane, te loše prehrambene navike djece. Osim kod kuće, veliki broj obroka djeca konzumiraju u restoranima, gdje se najčešće nude prevelike porcije hrane visoke energetske gustoće. Cilj ovog rada bio je procijeniti prisutnost i kvalitetu dječjih jelovnika u restoranima trgovačkih centara u Hrvatskoj. Odlaskom u trgovačke centre prikupljeni su podaci pomoću upitnika. Ukupno je posjećeno 18 trgovačkih centara u 7 gradova, te su zabilježena 82 restorana odnosno 505 kombinacija dječjih jelovnika. Za procjenu nutritivne kvalitete jelovnika, 3 restorana su imala informacije o nutritivnim vrijednostima, te je 79 kombinacija jelovnika unutar tih restorana korišteno za daljnju analizu. Nutritivna vrijednost uspoređivala se s kriterijima Kids LiveWell programa za dječje obroke u restoranima. svega 6 % (n= 5) dječjih jelovnika zadovoljilo je sve kriterije, dok su ostali jelovnici sadržavali preveliku energetsku vrijednost, količinu zasićenih masti, natrija i dodanog šećera.
Abstract (english)
Childhood obesity has become a global problem in recent decades, with the wide availability of fast food and poor children eating habits. Children consume a large number of meals in restaurants, where oversized portions of high-energy-density food are offered. The aim of this study was to assess the presence and quality of children's menus in restaurants of shopping centers in Croatia. Data were collected using a questionnaire at centers. A total of 18 shopping centers in 7 cities were visited. 82 restaurants and 505 combinations of children's menus were recorded. To assess the nutritional quality of the menus, 3 restaurants had information on nutritional values, and 79 combinations of menus within these restaurants were used for further analysis. Comparing with Kids LiveWell program 6 % (n= 5) of children's menus met all criteria, while other menus contained too much energy value, the amount of saturated fat, sodium and added sugar.
