Abstract
Prevalencija poremećaja hranjenja u mladih ljudi u konstantnom je porastu te je sve veći interes za istraživanjem ortoreksije nervoze i detaljnijim utvrđivanjem njenih karakteristika. Cilj ovog rada bio je istražiti učestalost ortoreksije nervoze u mladih osoba pomoću ORTO-15 upitnika te je povezati s percepcijom tjelesnog izgleda procijenjenom PACSR upitnikom, antropometrijskim parametrima i prehrambenim navikama ispitanika. Istraživanje je obuhvatilo 191 ispitanika, 164 žena i 27 muškaraca, dobi 18 - 24 godine. Utvrđeno je da 38,2 % ispitanika ima ortoreksiju nervozu. Ispitanicima s ortoreksijom nervozom pravilna prehrana je značajno važnija nego ispitanicima koji nemaju ortoreksiju nervozu (p=0,001), dok razlike u samoprocjeni kvalitete prehrane između te dvije skupine nema (p=0,815). Postoji razlika u rezultatima PACS-R između ispitanika s obzirom na dijagnozu ortoreksije nervoze (p=0,032), dok korelacija između rezultata PACS-R i ORTO-15 (p<0,01) dodatno ukazuje na to da osobe koje su razvile ortoreksiju nervozu imaju veću tendenciju uspoređivati svoj tjelesni izgled s izgledom drugih.
Abstract (english)
The prevalence of eating disorders in young people is steadily increasing and there is a growing interest in researching orthorexia nervosa and determining its characteristics more precisely. This study aimed to investigate the frequency of orthorexia nervosa in young people using the ORTO-15 questionnaire and to relate it to the perception of physical appearance assessed by the PACS-R questionnaire, anthropometric parameters and eating habits of the subjects. The study included 191 respondents of which 164 women and 27 men, aged 18-24 years. It was found that 38.2% of respondents had orthorexia nervosa. Subjects with orthorexia nervosa found healthy diet more important than subjects without orthorexia nervosa (p=0.001), while there were no differences in self-assessment of dietary quality between the two groups (p=0.815). There was a difference in PACS-R scores between subjects concerning the diagnosis of orthorexia nervosa (p=0.032), while the correlation between PACS-R scores and ORTO-15 (p<0.01) further indicates that individuals who developed orthorexia nervosa had a greater tendency to compare their physical appearance with the appearance of others.
