Abstract
Yang-Mills-Higgsova teorija opisuje bozonski sektor standardnog modela. Prvo objašnjavamo osnove Yang-Millsove teorije u komponentnoj notaciji u kojoj je ona najčešće korištena i opisujemo kako promjenom formalizma možemo prijeći u koordinatno nezavisni zapis preko diferencijalnih formi. Kao motivaciju dublje analize Yang-Millsove teorije opisujemo ključne matematičke korake u konstrukciji opće teorije relativnosti, nakon čega koristeći pojmove diferencijalne geometrije predstavljene kroz razvoj opće teorije relativnosti ponovno uvodimo Yang-Millsovu teoriju kao geometrijsku teoriju koneksija i zakrivljenosti. Motivirani prijelazom iz specijalne u opću teoriju relativnosti isti princip koristimo u vezanju Higgsovog i baždarnih polja zahtijevajući da koneksija ne mora nužno biti ravna. Nakon konstrukcije takve zakrivljene Yang-Mills-Higgsove teorije pokazujemo jednostavan Abelov primjer korištenja takve teorije na specifičnom modelu.
Abstract (english)
Yang-Mills-Higgs theory describes the bosonic sector of the Standard model. We shall first exhibit the basics of the Yang-Mills theory in a formalism in which it is most often used and explain how by a change of notation we can rewrite it in a coordinate independent way using differential forms. As a motivation for a deeper analysis of the theory we show the key mathematical elements in the construction of the general theory of relativity, after which we shall reintroduce the Yang-Mills theory as a geometric theory of connections and curvature using the basics of differential geometry introduced through the construction of the general theory of relativity. Motivated by the step from special to general relativity we use the same principle in the coupling of gauge fields to the Higgs (the Yang-Mills-Higgs theory) by dropping the condition that the connection be flat. Having constructed such a curved Yang-Mills-Higgs theory we present a simple Abelian example of a model within such a framework.
