Abstract
Vrste koje pripadaju porodici Brassicaceae danas čine značajni dio ljudske prehrane. Morfološka obilježja ovih biljaka su tetramerni dvospolni cvjetovi, listovi s razvijenom plojkom i plod komuška. Flavonoidi, glukozinolati, mikronutrijenti i makronutrijenti koje nalazimo u kupusnjačama imaju antikancerogena, antioksidacijska i protuupalna djelovanja te pozitivno utječu na snižavanje kolesterola i krvnog tlaka. Biljke ove porodice mogu se koristiti kao začini, salate, variva te za pripremu čajeva,a zbog opisanih svojstava njihova konzumacija ima brojne pozitivne učinke na ljudsko zdravlje.
Abstract (english)
The types belonging to the Brassicaceae family today make up a significant part of the human diet. The morphological characteristics of these plants are tetrameric biconvex flowers, leafs with developed spatula and fruit riparian. Flavonoids, glucosinolates, micronutrients and macronutrients found in cabbages have anticancer, antioxidative and anti-inflammatory effects and have a positive effect on lowering cholesterol and blood pressure. Plants of this family can be used as spices, salads, snacks and tea preparations, and due to the described properties their consumption has a number of positive effects on human health.
