Water is a multifunctional resource that is essential for the life of all living things. Water intended for human consumption must be healthy and free of toxins and micro-organisms, and its quality must be in accordance with the provisions of the Regulation on compliance parameters, methods of analysis, monitoring and safety plans for water for human consumption and the manner of keeping a register of legal entities that perform public water supply (NN 125/2017). The City of Osijek is the largest administrative and industrial center of the Osijek-Baranja County. For the purpose of distribution of water for human consumption, the company Vodovod-Osijek Ltd., daily seizes groundwater at the Vinogradi pumping station, which contains elevated concentrations of manganese, iron, ammonia, arsenic and has an increased value of turbidity and color. The aim of this paper is to present the process of treatment of water for human consumption in the company Vodovod-Osijek doo, that is, to describe the processes of water treatment for which they include: aeration, oxidation, coagulation and flocculation, precipitation, filtration, disinfection and delivery of water to consumers by disturbance of the pressure water supply system. The effect of the mentioned water treatment methods was followed by the analysis of water samples in one calendar year, and the results are presented graphically.
