Abstract
Uloga odgojitelja u igri djece značajno se mijenjala demokratizacijom društva. Nekada su odgojitelji smatrani čuvarima djece čiji je zadatak unaprijed osmisliti, usmjeravati i nadzirati sve dječje aktivnosti u vrtiću, no danas se na njih gleda kao na profesionalne stručnjake u odgojno obrazovnom radu te na aktivne suradnike u dječjem rastu i razvoju. Slika djeteta koje je maleno, nemoćno i nesposobno s pravom se smatra zastarjelom, a dijete u vrtiću postaje ravnopravan partner u planiranju aktivnosti. Dijete se razvija kroz igru, stoga je dječji „posao“ u vrtiću upravo igrati se, a uloga odgojitelja poznavati njihove dobne i razvojne karakteristike te u skladu s njima ostvariti prostorne, materijalne ali i socijalne uvjete kojima djeci omogućuje kvalitetnu igru (Stevanović, 2003). Kada odgojitelj u djecu ima povjerenja, omogući im da pogriješe i uče iz vlastitog iskustva, promatra i osluškuje njihove želje te ih popraćuje obogaćivanjem poticajnih materijala, ona mogu podizati svoju igru na više razine, nadograđivati svoja znanja i razvijati vještine, rasti i razvijati sve svoje potencijale.
Abstract (english)
The democratization of society has significantly changed the role of educators in children's play. In the past educators were observed as children's guardians whose task was to design, direct and supervise all children's activities in kindergarten, but nowadays they are observed as an educational experts and an active collaborators of children's growth and development. The image of a small, helpless and incapable child is considered outdated. A child in kindergarten is becoming an equal partner in planning activities. Children thrive by playing games, hence their "assignment" in kindergarten is to play, whereas the role of an educator is to understand their age and development characteristics and design environmental, material and social conditions accordingly that allow children's quality play (Stevanović, 2003). If the educator trusts the children, allows them to make mistakes and learn from their own experience, observes and listens to their wishes and accompanies them by enriching stimulating materials, a child can raise it's game to the higher levels, upgrade it's knowledge, develop skills and grow all of it's potentials.
