Abstract (english) The aim of this paper is to show how to bring children closer to different arts and get to know them with those arts, especially costume design, and how they can contribute to its creation. The first unit refers to the theoretical part of the curriculum. How it is compiled and compounded into a document, which is our guide in the curriculum planning in an educational institution, for early and preschool education. The second part of the paper deals with costume design. Mention is made of the historical development of costume design, a young artistic profession that was recognized only after the Second World War. The third part refers to practical work in the group “Bubamare” (DV Budućnost). The first part of the theoretical part of the topic is related to the curriculum, what are its values, key competencies, comparison of traditional and modern curriculum, integrated curriculum in which emphasis is placed on Reggio pedagogy and the work of Professor Junger Zimmer open concepts of planning and teamwork. The history of costume design reveals that it is a relatively young profession that developed in the second half of the twentieth century and was recognized as an independent profession that had been part of the scenography until then. In an interview with our well-known successful costume designer Danica Dedijer, she defined in the conversation that costume design is the art of costume design for theater, opera, ballet and film. The work related to the practical part showed that in kindergarten we can very much encourage the design of costumes with children, through various art techniques, combined with textile materials and wool. The results or outcomes of the project are that the children have developed their artistic, social and motor competencies which have strengthened their self-confidence.
