Abstract (english) Mental health is considered as an important factor for everyday functioning not only for each person, but the society as a whole. Since young people represent the future of society, the prevention of mental disorders among them is of exceptionall importance. It is thought that one of the main factors which could act as protective or preventive of their mental health is religiosity. To confirm this presumption, this research investigated the relationship between religiosity, mental health and life satisfaction among students in Croatia. In this research participated 564 students from different parts of Croatia. The measuring instruments used in this study were Religiosity Questionnare and The Scale of depression, anxiety and stress (DASS-S-42). When questioning life satisfaction a global approach was used and the construct was measured with a single item. Kendall's tau correlation has shown that there is a slight low correlation between constructs in question. The results have shown that there are slight positive correlation between mental health and religiosity. In other words, religious participans have poorer mental health than nonreligious ones. Moreover, questioning the differences in mental health amongst members and non-members of religious congregations has shown that non-members had better mental health than the members. The rank-sum test showed that there is a difference between male and female students in the level of religiosity and the female participants were more religious. Dividing the participants in three groups (least, moderately and highly religious) has shown that the least and highly religious people only differ in the amount of stress which they endure. Among these three groups, moderately religious ones endure the highest amount of stress, anxiety, depression and are the least content with their own life.
