Abstract Turizam i sport međusobno su povezane društveno ekonomske pojave.
Abstract (english) Tourism and sport are interrelated socio-economic occurrences. The new form of sports tourism includes sport as a motive for traveling. Sporting activity is an increasingly common reason for vacation, but also a way of life for modren men. Sport tourism therefore encompasses customers from top athletes, recreational players to passive spectators. It provides numerous direct and indirect benefits to destinations that place it in their own strategic and development plans. In addition to world-renowned sporting events: the Olympics, the World Cup, Vogalong or the Super Bowl, sports tourism has developed in Croatia through major sporting events (Snow Queen Trophy, Croatia Open Umag, Run Croatia), but also sports recreation (Bike Park Rabac, Istrian Wine Run). As a new form at the national level, it has a great potential for development through winter or summer sports and recreational tourism, as well as the construction of tourist centers (for example in Istria). For future development, it is important to implement sports tourism within other selective forms to create innovative sports content through the construction of sports hotels or fitness camps.
