Abstract (english) This document deals with the application of information and communication technology in teaching in higher education institutions, with the aim of integrating the application through all aspects and opportunities offered by modern technology and modern application of computers. In doing so, they look at the possibilities of ICT in everyday teaching as an aid to education and teaching, as tools for students' self-assessment, as a means of combating plagiarism, and as intelligent tutoring systems through which each student can independently develop their knowledge. A selection of several tools commonly used in teaching is presented. Then we will be introduced to the use of digital content in the teaching process and how to use interactive computer software for e-lab purposes. Furthermore, multimedia communication is described and an analysis of the most well-known component of teaching process execution - Virtual Education, is given as a separate chapter. The last topic of the theoretical part explains the ICT education systems, of which we will see intelligent tutoring systems, plagiarism detection systems and the most important Moodle system to us, which is the most represented in higher education. The Moodle system used by Croatian colleges is presented as an example of a successful teaching tool. The basic capabilities and limitations of this system are also presented. As part of the paper, a survey was conducted on students' opinions on the assessment of use, use and satisfaction with the use of ICT in teaching. An effort will be made to identify how familiar the respondents are with these tools and how much they use on a daily basis in education. Also, their expectations for further use of ICT in teaching will be explored
