Abstract (english) Slunjski (2013) defined self-confidence as a set of skills that encourages us to preserve in our efforts, Miljković and Rijavec (2002) consider a self-confident child to be able to think, make decisions and solve problems. In addition, in the introduction to this paper, it is written that the feedback that child receives from parents, teachers, trainers or significant others is very important and is one of the factors that influence the development of self-confidence, and events that happened in childhood and youth also play a role in shaping self-confidence and self-esteem. Precisely because of this the teachers’ role is significant and the presence of positive, and absence of negative feedback, develops all aspects of self-confidence and self-esteem, and besides, with it, the teacher also encourages better school achievements. The purpose of this research was to test the correlation between teacher’s feedback and self-confidence and self-esteem of students. The examinees were students of the 4th grade of elementary schools in Zadar County. 246 students participated, of which 122 were girls and 119 boys. For research purposes we designed a measuring instrument which consists of measurement scale for teacher, self-confidence scale and self-esteem scale (Vizek-Vidović i Kuterovac-Jagodić, 1996). The results showed that in this age self-confidence and self-esteem of the students are high, and that positive feedback is more represented than negative feedback. We also found that in this age boys and girls do not differ in self-confidence and self-esteem, and we concluded that positive feedback, negative feedback, and school success are significant predictors of all aspects of self-confidence, self-esteem and willingness of students to seek help.
