Este trabajo se centra en el estudio de caso de una familia bilingüe. Dicho estudio se ha realizado a través de la entrevista con los miembros de la familia bilingüe, o mejor dicho, a través de un cuestionario, cuyas preguntas reflejan las informaciones sobre bilingüismo en general, pero también sobre bilingüismo infantil y familiar. Los resultados del estudio han mostrado que los padres aplican su conocimiento y pensamiento sobre el bilingüismo en la crianza de su hijo. Tal proceder afecta tanto positiva (la posibilidad de crear un hogar bilingüe) como negativamente (la ausencia de la lengua materna del padre en la familia llevó a la pérdida de una parte de la identidad en su hijo) el desarrollo lingüístico y social de su hijo. También, se ha demostrado que la situación lingüística en la familia encuestada está estrechamente relacionada con los cambios en su rutina familiar. El hecho de que el niño comenzara a ir al preescolar llevó a la necesidad de la redistribución de los idiomas entre los miembros de la familia, para que el niño no perdiera su lengua no dominante.

This thesis is centered on a case study of a bilingual family. The case study is conducted through an interview with the members of the bilingual family, or rather through a questionnaire whose questions reflect the information about bilingualism in general, but also about childhood and family bilingualism. The results of the case study have shown that parents make use of their knowledge and opinions of bilingualism in the upbringing of their bilingual child. Such an approach affects both positively (the possibility to make a bilingual home) and negatively (the absence of the father’s mother tongue in the family led to the loss of one part of the child’s identity) on the language and social development of their child. It has also been shown that the linguistic situation of the surveyed family is closely related to the changes in their family routine. The fact that the child started going to preschool led to the necessity for the redistribution of languages between the members of the family, so that the child wouldn’t lose his non-dominant language.
