Abstract
This thesis deals with feminist aspects in Margaret Atwood’s novel The Testaments. As an introduction in the topic the first part of the thesis provides general information about Margaret Atwood, the acclaimed Canadian writer. Among other things, her novels were defined as feminist, therefore the following chapter focuses on the concept of feminism and its explanation. The development of feminism through history, the introduction of four waves feminism, is discussed. The brief description of gender related issues in translation is also explained. The information provided gives a better understanding of the topic of the thesis, which is the analysis of feminist elements present in The Testaments. Lastly, there is the main part of the thesis, the translation of the selected chapters into Croatian.
Abstract (croatian)
Ovaj diplomski rad bavi se feminističkim aspektima u romanu Margaret Atwood Ispovijesti. Kao uvod u temu u prvo dio donosi opće informacije o Margaret Atwood, slavnoj kanadskoj autorici. Između ostalog, njeni se romani svrstavaju pod feminističke tako da se iduće poglavlje fokusira na objašnjenje koncepta feminizma. Opisuje se razvoj feminizma, točnije uvodi u feminističke valove. Rad sadrži i kratko objašnjenje odnosa rodnih problema i prijevoda. Ponuđene informacije daju bolji uvid u temu rada, točnije, analizu feminističkih elemenata u romanu Ispovijesti. Zatim slijedi poglavlje gdje se analiziraju feministički elementi prisutnu u Ispovijestima. Opisuje način na koji režim u romanu kontrolira žene kako bi ostale poslušne. Naposljetku, u radu se nalazi prijevod odabranih poglavlja spomenutog romana na hrvatski jezik.
