The National and University Library in Zagreb has started regularly delivering data from the Croatian Digital Dissertations Repository to the DART-Europe system which is the central European portal for storing digital dissertations. This allows better visibility of dissertations written by Croatian scientists.
DART-Europe is a partnership project of libraries and library consortia to which data from 601 different universities from 28 European states is delivered. Their goal is to improve visibility and access to doctoral dissertations from European universities.
Due to data exchange, DART-Europe now offers access to data about dissertations from the repositories of four Croatian universities - the University of Zagreb, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the University of Rijeka and the University of Split.
The Croatian Digital Dissertations Repository was created within Dabar and it enables access to the dissertations stored in the institutional repositories of Croatian universities and their constituents. Dissertation metadata are delivered to the Dart-Europe system via the OAI-PMH metadata harvesting protocol which is implemented in all the Dabar repositories in accordance with global standards and the OpenAIRE guidelines.
