In the Republic of Croatia, beekeeping is a traditional and valued agricultural activity that plays a key role in the sustainable development of rural areas by ensuring polliation, thus contributing to the improvement of biodivesity. In beekeeping there is stationary beekeeping in which the beekeeper settles communities mostly in one place and migratory beekeeping where the beekeeper moves communities depending on the season.With migratory beekeeping it is possible to have higher incomes because honey yields per hive are higher than that of stationary beekeeping, but additional equipment is needed which increases costs. Therefore, the aim of this paper was to compare cost – benefit of honey produced on stationary and migratory way. For comparison of cost – benefit analysis of honey production, data from the production year 2017 was used which was obtained by surveying the three family farms of the Republic of Croatia. The first one is located in the County of Zagreb (Medvednica), and has a stationary apiary with 60 bee communities. The second one is located in Brodsko-posavska county, and has a migratory apiary with 70 bee communities. The third one has a stationary part of apiary in Mikulići (County of Zagreb) with capacity of 120 bee communities, and migratory part of apiary with capacity of 70 bee communities that are moved throughout Croatia (Lonjsko polje, Gorski kotar, South Velebit, Central Dalmatia). Based on analysis that were made, the first family farm achieved cost - benefit of 1.45, productivity 151.67 kn/h, and profitability 44.53%. The second family farm had a cost - benefit of 1.80, productivity 223.75 kn/h and profitability 79.96%, while the cost – benefit of third family farm was 1.97, productivity 189.6 kn/h and profitability 96.74%.
