Geese are one of the first domesticated domestic animals. In Croatia, the geese traditionally breeding in an extensive manner with the largest continental rivers: Drava, Sava and Dunav and their tributaries. The number of Dravska geese has drastically decreased today, primarily due to the amelioration of the Drava river and the construction of a hydroelectric plant. The aim of this master’s thesis was to establish reproductive indicators of breeding flocks of Dravska geese such as egg number, egg mass, range and number of gosling per breeding geese, and production indicators of gosling up to the age of 4 months (increment, final mass, feed mix, conversion of fodder mixture and mortality). The research was conducted on 12 family farms from the Varazdin County. The reproductive indexes of 17 breeding flocks with sex ratio 2:1 and 3:1 were investigated. After the incubation and the hatching, the goslings were weighed and their production indicators were monitored for 4 months. The average weight of breeding eggs was 141.51 grams, the average number of eggs per geese was 8.79 pieces, and only 4 were hatched per geese. Hatchability was 46.23% and statistical significance (P>0.05) was not established between flocks with sex ratio 2:1 and 3:1. One-day goslings were average weighed 98.31 g and at 4 months old 3666.87 g. The conversion of feed mixture at the end of the first month increased from 1.88 kg/kg to 14.61 kg/kg in the fourth month of breeding. Based on the results obtained during the research it can be concluded that the reproduction indicators of the Dravska geese are lower than that shown in the previous studies and available literature which may be the result of long-term breeding in the kinship and poor practices of the breeder by which the breeding flock is formed solely from its own breeding, while the production indicators are satisfactory.
