Many decisions are made every day and by most of them there is a reflected risk. It means that such decisions are subjected to a wide range of possible outcomes and the possibility that a certain outcome is likely to happen. Such exposure to a risk, as a result of insecurity connected to future events and their outcomes, presents inevitable and elusive characteristics of every aspect of life. On the one hand, facing the risk can beneficially affect the future of a decision maker in respect of achieving higher goals, raising the quality level and acquiring positive reputation. But on the other hand, it can significantly jeopardize the achievement of goals,violate the financial health, negatively affect the reputation and destructively affect other individual, process and organizational performance criteria. The imperative of intensifying the constructive aspect of risk as well as reduction of its negative consequences is the adequate risk management. Thus the goal of this work is to prove particularities of risk management in a supply chain. The organizations in a supply chain cannot achieve success nor can they survive at the market in the long term without effective risk management. It enables the supply chain, as strategic map of dangers and opportunities and their potential consequences, effective elimination of undesirable events and understanding and optimizing of benefits which can be generated from the risk defined in advance. As a result, the work analyzes different strategies and options of manipulation with the level of possibility and intensity of different risk effects which are used by different organizations in a supply chain in order to protect themselves from danger and to use the existing opportunities arising from constant changes and existing market trends.
