The paper discusses entrepreneurial activities in the organization of tourist events, with special emphasis on the organization of the three largest wine festivals in Croatia. Among the mentioned festivals are wine festivals in Osijek, Split and Zagreb. With the aim of better understanding the organization of the festival, the paper first explains the theoretical part of the organizational processes. Festivals are important tourist events that attract certain visitors and aim to extend and strengthen the tourist season. There are several different types of festivals, and they differ according to the content and the visitors they want to attract. When organizing a festival, it is evident that there are seven basic phases through which the organizer conducts a particular festival. Through the mentioned phases, the organizer gets acquainted with the legal regulations within which the festival is realized. Next, it defines the theme and purpose of the festival, and accordingly determines the target audience and visitors that will be attracted to a particular festival. The next step is to define the time period of the event and the location where the festival will be held. This is followed by defining the source of funding, with sponsors being the primary source and then ticket sales. The organization of the implementation team and the logistics segment for the festival represent the last stages of implementation and play a very important role in planning. Adequate and high-quality implementation of the marketing mix is especially responsible for the successful implementation of the festival, the basic role of which is to inform the public and serve as a communication channel. Analyzing the festivals in Osijek, Split and Zagreb, minor differences in organization and implementation were noticed, but it is concluded that the organizers have the same goals, which is to provide satisfaction to their visitors and the constant improvement of the service provided.
