Sažetak (engleski) | The Covid-19 pandemic was a global problem, and in addition to human health, it also had a major impact on business. Companies found themselves in a situation where they had to respond very quickly to the challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic in order not to go bankrupt. This thesis observes and explains the procurement management of companies, more specifically small companies, during the Covid-19 pandemic, i.e. the disruptions in procurement caused by it and finding a way out of critical situations in that aspect for small companies. The research is carried out at company X, which is a small company, a distributor of finishing tools, abrasive material and cutting tools, paints and varnishes, for which procurement is the key to successful business. Procurement is one of the key operations in the supply chain. Some small companies had to change distribution channels, some had to switch from traditional planning and purchasing control methods to digital ones, and some had to change suppliers. The aim of this thesis was to establish, based on domestic and foreign literature and in-depth research, on the specific example of the mentioned company X, how small companies responded to the problems in the supply chain caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, with an emphasis on procurement. The selected company primarily felt its problems during the Covid-19 pandemic in the procurement of products. Some of their suppliers were from China, and some suppliers, with whom they also had problems, were from Europe, but depended on imports from China. They had to adapt and agree to more expensive offers and choose other suppliers. Precisely for the above reasons, company X was a good example of a small business that had to respond to procurement challenges caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Through the analysis of statistical data and a semi-structured interview with the director of the company, changes in prices were found, which consequently had a negative impact on the business of small company X, however, a resourceful response to the choice of suppliers, solutions for challenges in inventory control, enabled the further development of his business. |
