Sažetak | Investments are the transform of economic goods into a suitable form which will allow the investor to increase his funds in the future. They can be active or passive and have material or intangible resources. Every investment has to be analysed according to investment criteria to ensure its profitability. Financial planning and risk prediction is crucial.
The investment process consists of defining investment strategies, analysing financial instruments, building a portfolio, and revising the portfolio. If someone decides to invest certain funds in the project, it is important that such investment is complete, that there is no improvisation, that it is planned to the finest details. This is where project management is of extreme importance.
Green investments are investments necessary to reduce greenhouse gas and air pollutant emissions, without significantly reducing the production and consumption of non-energy goods. They seek to reduce pollution or decrease energy consumption. There are many different categories of green investments, depending on the area and asset category.
Green investments are currently on the rise in world, led by the USA and China. In the future changes need to be made in order to promote green investments in the world, as well as in Croatia. Developing green investments would help Croatia reduce unemployment, emission reduction and increase renewable sources in energy production.
There are many examples of green investment throughout the world. Some cities, like Malmö in Sweden, strive to become a green city. In Croatia, projects such as SEA-R, financed by the EU funds, are pushing the barriers and opening doors for other investors.
