The Financial crisis, which after its creation in 2008 has spread all over the world and affected all sectors of economic systems in different countries, has left deep traces in the various segments of the business activities of many organizations in the world. In this thesis, the impact of the Financial crisis on the activities of human resources planning will be observed. The focus will be placed on methods of determining needs and supply of human resources and the strategies for balancing the needs and supply of human resources. Also, by linking economic indicators and indicators of movement of labor force, the impact of the financial crisis on the Croatian labor market and on the labor market of the European Union will be shown. Based on the example of Croatian company Colas Croatia d.d., the thesis will connect the theoretical and scientific assumptions of human resources planning and impact of the Financial crisis on labour matket trends and business activities of the organizations. In thesis, also solutions with which the management of the organizations solved problems that appeared from reduced needs for human resources during the Financial crisis will be shown. Reduced needs for human resources were the cause of layoffs conducted using three Redundancy Social Security Programs in the period from 2010 to 2012. Using this, the option which management together with the human resource experts can use during the Financial crisis for solving problems in the process of balancing the needs and supply for human resources in the organization was shown.
